Through this Privacy Policy, we want to explain to you how we collect, store, protect, and use your personal information, and to clearly inform you of how we handle your personal data. This Privacy Policy is closely related to your use of 100cow services, so we recommend that you read it in full to better protect your privacy.

If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy, you may contact us through the contact information published on our platform. If you do not agree with any part of this Privacy Policy, you should immediately stop using our services. By using any of the services we provide, you consent to our lawful use and protection of your personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

I. Scope of Application

This Privacy Policy applies to all services we provide. It applies to your visits to our website and/or your use of services through any related client we provide.

Please note that this Privacy Policy does not apply to services provided to you by third parties—for example, third parties that rely on our platform to provide services to you. Any personal information you provide to such third parties is not governed by this Privacy Policy, and we assume no responsibility for any third-party use of the information you provide.

II. How We Collect Information

When we provide services, we may collect, store, and use the following information related to you in order to deliver a better, more personalized service. We collect information as follows:

1. Information you provide

When you register an account and/or use our services, complete payments, and/or submit relevant information, we may collect your name, gender, nationality, occupation, education, language, age, ID number, phone number, email, address, hobbies, payment account, and other related supplementary information (such as your province, city, and postal code).

This also includes information you share with others through our services and information you store while using our services.

2. Information collected while you use the service

In order to provide and optimize the services you need, we may collect information about your use of our services, including:

  1. When you use our services or visit web pages on our platform, we automatically receive and record information from your browser and device, including but not limited to your IP address, browser type, language used, access date and time, software and hardware characteristics, and the web pages you request. If you download or use client software from us or our affiliates, or access our platform services via a mobile web page, we may read information related to your location and mobile device, including but not limited to device model, device identifier, operating system, screen resolution, and telecom carrier.
  2. Log information refers to technical information that the system may automatically collect through cookies, web beacons, or similar means when you use our services to determine your country and language.
  3. Information you search for or browse when using our services, such as search terms you use, URLs of social media pages you visit, and other content details you browse or request while using our services.
  4. Information about your use of our mobile applications and other software, and your interactions with them.
  5. Information you communicate through our services, such as communication account numbers and the time, content, and duration of such communications.
  6. Metadata contained in content you share through our services, such as the date, time, or location of capture or recording.
  7. Information provided and recorded while using our services, including but not limited to purchasing courses, booking courses, course recordings, and video recordings.

Our cookies do not collect additional information from your computer's browser or hard drive. Most browsers offer the option to refuse to store data in cookies. You may modify your acceptance of cookies or reject our cookies, but we do not recommend doing so, as this may, in certain circumstances, affect your secure access to our websites and use of our services.

III. How We Use Information

Because we collect your information for the purpose of providing services and improving service quality, we may use your information for the following purposes:

  1. To provide the services you use, and to design, maintain, and improve those services.
  2. To support authentication, customer service, security prevention, fraud monitoring, archiving, and backup, in order to ensure the security of the products and services we provide to you.
  3. To match you with learning advisors and content suitable for you based on your needs, region, age, occupation, language ability, background, interests, and learning preferences.
  4. To analyze your use of our services so that we can better understand how you access and use them, and respond to your personalized needs—such as language and location settings, personalized help and instructions, or other responses to you and other users.
  5. When you use our services, we may use your information to send emails, news, or push notifications to your device. If you do not want to receive such information, you may unsubscribe on your device according to the prompts we provide.
  6. To recommend content you may be interested in, including but not limited to sending you product and service information, displaying personalized third-party promotional content through the system, or—with your consent—sharing information with our partners so they can send you information about their products and services.
  7. For software certification or management software upgrades.
  8. To provide ads more relevant to you in place of generally placed ads.
  9. To invite you to participate in surveys about our products and services, or in promotional and sweepstake activities.
  10. For other uses you have approved.

IV. How We Share Information

We will not sell or rent any of your information. We will only share your information with a third party in the following circumstances:

  1. With your prior consent or authorization.
  2. As required by laws and regulations or by administrative or judicial authorities.
  3. To share your personal information with our affiliates.
  4. To provide your personal information to trusted partners so that they may process it on our behalf, in accordance with our instructions, this Privacy Policy, and any other applicable confidentiality and security measures.
  5. If you are an eligible intellectual property rights complainant and have filed a complaint, we may disclose the matter to the respondent at their request, so that the parties may resolve any potential rights disputes.
  6. Where sharing your information is the only way we can provide the services you need or resolve disputes between you and others. For example, in a transaction created by you on our platform, if either party has performed or partially performed its transaction obligations and requests information disclosure, we may, depending on the circumstances, provide the other party's contact information and other necessary information to facilitate the completion of the transaction or the resolution of the dispute.
  7. If you violate relevant laws and regulations or our applicable agreements or rules, we may need to disclose information to third parties.
  8. To detect, prevent, or respond to fraud, security, or technical issues.
  9. In an emergency, to protect the interests of users and the public.
  10. To protect our legitimate rights and interests, those of our affiliates, or those of our users.

V. How We Protect Your Personal Information

To safeguard your information, we strive to take all reasonable physical, electronic, and administrative security measures to protect it from leakage, damage, or loss, including but not limited to SSL, encrypted storage of information, and access control at our data centers. We also apply strict management controls to employees or outsourcing personnel who may have access to your information, including but not limited to permission controls based on role, signed confidentiality agreements, and monitoring of their operations. We will use security measures consistent with current technology to provide reasonable protection for your information, and will do our best to ensure that your information is not leaked, damaged, or lost.

Your account has security features. Please take good care of your account and password. We use security measures such as backups to other servers and encryption of user passwords to ensure that your information is not lost, misused, or altered. Despite the above security measures, please understand that there is no "perfect security" on the information network.

When you conduct online transactions through our platform services, you will inevitably need to disclose personal information—such as bank account information, contact information, or postal address—to the other party or a potential other party. Please safeguard your personal information and disclose it to others only when necessary. If you discover that your personal information has been leaked—particularly your account and password—please contact our customer service immediately so that we can take appropriate action.

VI. Protection of Minors

We encourage parents or legal guardians (hereinafter referred to as "guardians") to guide minors under the age of 18 in using our services. We recommend that minors encourage their guardians to read this Privacy Policy, and that minors obtain their guardians' consent and guidance before submitting personal information. 100cow will establish and maintain reasonable procedures to protect the confidentiality and security of minors' personal data.

VII. Changes

We may, when appropriate, amend the terms of this Privacy Policy as part of this policy. If such amendments materially reduce your rights under this Privacy Policy, we will notify you by prominent prompts on the platform, by email, or by other means before the changes take effect. If you continue to use our services after the changes take effect, you agree to be bound by the revised Privacy Policy.
